Memorizing Ephesians 3:20, this struck home to me:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us
I've got a pretty good imagination, and I can think of really huge, wonderful things. But when I pray, it's usually about the small things. How often to we forget how powerful God is, and what He is willing to do for us? We pray for something small, and (at least for me) often we think to ourselves "this will never happen - God used to do those things back in the 'Old days', but not anymore".
Yet He said "Ask and it will be given to you". "We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." He knows what we need, and will give it to us if we ask - indeed, not only that but more than we can imagine!
As for those old days, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." If we have faith in God, we will do greater things than when Jesus was on the earth. Impossible for us - yet easy for God! Yet why doesn't God do this in my life? It's because I'm caught up in myself - what I need to get done, what I want to do, own, etc. How's my faith in God supposed to grow when I'm relying on myself? God, take the focus off of me, turn it to you, and increase my faith!

That's really good Ryan, such an important reminder. So often I forget that he is the living God, Lord of all the heavens and earth. That he can do anything and no circumstance in my life is bigger than he is.
