My own blog. A test of the limits of my imagination. And a test of the limit of your patience. I can make you read whatever I want!
well, not really. This is just a bit about me:
My given name is Timothy Robert Henry, and I was born the son of Ben and Darcy Friesen on February 14, 1988. (cue "aww's" for being born on Valentine's Day.) Now I could go on about my Friesen heritage for awhile. But I'll just state the most interesting facts. My dad comes from a family with 16 born children. so I have a lot of cousins. In fact, you are probably one of them. (just kidding.) And, other than that, suffice it to say that I'm pretty much pure-blooded Mennonite. How much more interesting an heritage can you get?? Mennonites come from eastern Europe and were groups of farmers and such that formed one branch of the Protestant reformation. They uhh, yeah, that's all I pretty much want to say about that. They rock! (as if you didn't already know that!!!)
How I got into quizzing: I was reluctant back in the days of my overly introspective self. (I was shy.) namely being, grade 0-9. yep, I wouldn't even go to the quiz meet to check it out, even though my best friend was in it from grade 7. hey, I was happy without much of a social life. And actually, even though I was homeschooled, my mom ran a daycare, so I was around people, and used to that. I just didn't join any programs really before youth age, grade 7, so when I did, I started slowly. Anyway, cut to the chase; my aforementioned friend invited me to join the LIT program with him at summer camp, and I did, totally against my nature, and I pretty much radically changed. Especially since I decided to join quizzing the following year. The number of people that I knew in June of that year, 2003, to the next year probably quadra-cinquen-tripa-dupled. yeah. so I adventured through those couple years. Now I quiz with Parliament Community Church, my home church. in my first two years of quizzing, it wasn't possible, so I kinda church hopped. But I really enjoyed quizzing with Westhill Park, and Hillsdale, and now Parliament. Quizzing rocks! right now- 37 days, 00 hours, 57 minutes, 39 secs, 113 millisecs till Western Quiz meet 2006!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!
I'm in grade 12. I'm homeschooled. I'm thinking you're bored of reading facts about me. So, I'll tell you a story.
One day a boy thought he'd be very chivalrous and hang up a tea towel for his Mommy. He hadn't developed great hand-eye coordination yet, and the result was disasterous. Instead of hanging up the tea towel, he hung up his lip. Yes, his lip. He was hanging my his mouth when his Mommy found him, and she was able to take him off the hook, and take him to the doctor to get stitches. Although he knows it cost him stitches once, this boy will never give up serving others. How touching.
True story.
I am Tim. some people call me 'gutsy.' some, "Timmy." my brother's fiancée, "Timothy." and for a good reason too, since it is my name and all. If you ever want to visit a made-up country, I'm your travel agent. Fly now, pay later. Until we meet again, and the case is solvéd.

Ah, my web-log. Ought it really to be called a log, if all it logs is one spontaneous, semi-creative post, never again to record any thoughts of its begetter, who has neglected it for over a year?
I am still Tim. I have often wondered if I should really introduce myself as "I'm Tim." If, perchance, I mumble it, "um tem" is all the acquaintance to be would make out. The plain and simple truth is, my name is not Tim. My parents gave me the name, Timothy, no doubt at least partly taken from the apostle Paul's protégé. Yet I do not introduce myself as such. My brother's (now) wife still calls me by my name. But the rest of the world knows me as Tim. Except my cats and dog, which I observed today; they (as far as I know) have always called me "Timmy."

You know, it could be one of those logs that just lie around on the forest floor, which serve as great paths for explorers and children looking for a secret cave full of treasure. The simpler the log, the more room there is for imagination on the side of the children.
